We are looking for a senior commercial lawyer to join our Business Law Team.
This is a role for someone who enjoys working closely with business owners, senior managers and investors to help them make good decisions, complete important transactions and solve practical legal problems.

Our team works with successful privately-held New Zealand businesses, family-owned businesses, growth companies, franchisors, investors, corporates and household names. Our work includes commercial contracts, franchising, business sales and acquisitions, shareholder and investment arrangements, business structuring, succession and general commercial legal advice.
You will have plenty of direct client contact and responsibility. You will be trusted to take ownership of matters, manage client relationships and run workstreams, while working closely with a partner who is available, engaged and supportive.
This role may suit you if you:
- are an experienced commercial lawyer, likely at senior associate level or an experienced associate;
- have strong commercial contract, business advisory and some M&A experience;
- are practical, responsive and commercially minded;
- enjoy working directly with clients and becoming a trusted adviser;
- are efficient, organised and can run matters;
- enjoy mentoring and developing junior team members;
- uses technology and AI thoughtfully to improve quality, efficiency and client service; and
- want to be part of a friendly, high-performing team that works hard but keeps a sense of perspective.
